Wow, that's a very interesting tip! I love those kind of old books - I have a couple of really old cookbooks that talk about houshold stuff, too. So interesting to read about how they did it "back in the day."
Great photo - but in the heck is brick dust? Not that my knives get used enough to be cleaned
