Erkner

Winter Light
Faded Quiet

It's been raining since Friday night here, endless drizzle interrupted by heavier downpours - oh hum, I'm trying not to get too mopey about it and not let it interupt plans.  So despite the fairly constant drizzle Matthias and I got out yesterday and ventured down to Erkner, a small town to the south -east of Berlin. We walked around Flakensee, still half frozen despite the warmer weather we've had recently.  It was a lovely walk - mostly flat which suited me quite happily, we even managed to scout out a few spots that will be perfect for a summer picnic in a few months time.

Other weekending adventures included making some delicious and reasonably healthy banana muffins.  I think I can probably tweak the recipe even more to make them a super-healthy, yummy, fibre-full breakfast item.  I'm fairly fickle about breakfast and up until recently have mostly given it a miss but am finding that without something in my tummy before 9am this mamma-to-be doesn't cope too very well!  I'm not much of a cereal fun - although I love muesli. I'm keen to build up a bit of a breakfast repetoire, what are all your go-to quick and delicious breakfast staples?

Beautiful light!! I am sure this will make a great picnik spot in the summer!
We were lucky in Switzerland, sunshine all weekend, almost felt like spring!!

For breakfast I love Vanillequark (don't ask me what this is in English..) with fresh fruits. Or a freshly blended fruit smoothie!
Banana muffins also sound very yummy though...

These are lovely photographs Clare. I especially love the tones in the second one.
I'm a really bad girl when it comes to breakfast, in that I usually don't even think about it until around noon when it's time for lunch!! Even when I was pregnant for both my children, I really had to force myself to eat earlier. Should probably try to change that, since it is said that it is the most imortant meal of the day!! :-)

These are wonderful photographs. The tones are beautiful and the first one looks just like a painting. I don't really have any breakfast staples although I do like a bit of muesli or yoghurt with fresh fruit. Have a lovely week.

The pictures are lovely! They remind me of my time in Silver Bay, NY this past summer. And for breakfast, I usually like yogurt and fruit or a bagel with peanut butter for some protein. :)

These are beautiful...and quite un-winterlike actually...that light is so serene.

I LOVE breakfast... Sometimes it's only a nice piece of buttered sour dough bread but I also like avocado on toast or "Huevos a la copa" (soft boiled eggs in a cup with pieces of toast, delicious.

Are you finding your taste are changing?? I had two avocados (sometimes more!) every day while pregnant. (Did I just admit that???)

I want to escape to that dreamy world!

I'm a huge fan of greek yogurt and berries for breakfast.

This looks like a relaxed walk from the weekend. I like the photos, the colors (light pink) and the branch in the water. Great. It looks so calm, when no one would go. And for summer, it seems the ideal place for a picnik to be.
When I was pregnant, I could not eat much in the morning. I quickly became sick. Today I like to eat whole wheat bread with cheese, tomato and an egg. And a gtuen coffee. This is the perfect breakfast for me. Coffee is not good for the baby, but breakfast is important.

Have a nice day!
