weekend-ing

We had plans to visit one of Berlin's lakes this weekend but once all was said and done we instead decided on a rather smaller expedition to our local park. The lack of water didn't distract from the experience at all. We ate. We slept, read, knit and slept some more. I'm not sure what it is, but there's something about picnics which always makes the food taste so much better. The tomatoes were the best of the season so far. The cherries were the juiciest. Even the baguette, which had somehow got wet, didn't distract from the deliciousness of our little feast. I'm tempted to say that it was almost the perfect way to spend an early-summer Sunday in Berlin. Except that I'm not going to - because that might jinx the weather - and I'm hoping for lots more days like this to come.

Berlin just looks more appealing every time I visit your blog! I can't wait to see it... A friend asked me to go next year at Spring! You have captured some great shots here-your angles are fabulous. I am curious, are you zooming in or do you creep up close?

You really do have a great shooting style. I can see my new additions in my Flickr contacts and always know which one is yours...so great.

I love a good picnic and it looks like it might have been a rather hot day. It's getting hot here as well.

Tomatoes?! We're just starting to get early-spring foods in here. Why DO I live in the arctic tundra again?? Sounds like a lovely weekend! :)

oh i do love a good spring picnic, especially when the foods are simple but really delicious. i loved tomatoes in europe, they're a little bit lacking over here.
