little stitches

18_05_babyknit

Teeny, tiny stitches is where I am at the moment. The weather hasn't been that inspirational, photo-taking wise, and if I'm being perfectly honest, even when the sun is shining after a day at work I'm more than  happy to sit on the couch with my magical meditation sticks (knitting needles to some) and knit a few more rows of this or that. Clickity-clack go my needles and thumb, thumb goes the bump. Both make me smile and with legs the size of elephants and a head full of hayfever this is pretty much as good as it gets.

The end result of all of this sitting, meditating and cosmic nourishing has been a lovely little 'take home' outfit. I've knit the jacket pattern a few times before - it's Twinkle, Vintage Cardigan if anyone is interested in that kind of thing. And the little hat is the Lotus Hat. It's a pain to start but the teeny tiny stitches blossom (no pun intended) beautifully after blocking, so much so that I'm thinking of knitting up another one in white.

Edit: And in a spot of internet organisation that has been missing around these parts of late, I'm linking up to Lisa's Creative Exchange today. Yippee!

They're absolutely beautiful. My favorite thing about knitted items is that they become treasures passed from one generation to the next. I love that. You did such a beautiful job with these, Clare.

Despite the weather not being great, you have the perfect sun color in your knitting. :) I love how knitting can replace gorgeous weather.

The most adorable hat EVER! I love it...I would like one in black or red...yes red. I love the photo and the way you put them together too...really, I would think those little stitches make for great macro shots! I also just love the sound of the clicking of the needles...there is something comforting about it. Pretty post.

it's definitely knitting weather now in sydney so i'm going to get started again this weekend. i want to actually make something more than a scarf with mistakes in it!

(and i agree, turkmenistan may have to go on the list of 'places to visit', the whole region is a complete mystery to me!)
