Wondering

croatia-1.jpg
I am wondering if I can quietly return to this place without too much fanfare and hoop-lah?  If I could just start again, in the middle, without too many whats, whys or hows. The middle is really where everything begins anyway. More-or-less.

Turns out that Canberra wasn't 'our place'. We're city people really and despite our initial attempts at trying to make it feel like home, it just wasn't and was never going to be. In the end we moved. It was complicated and the details are still being ironed out. I'll miss Canberra's sunsets and endless horizons but I'm already loving having coffee at the the end of the street and a milkbar around the corner.  Like I said; we're city people really.

For a while I stopped taking photographs. I picked up my camera again on holidays. It felt good. I got my camera-eye back and I thought about blogging.  And so I thought, perhaps, that I'd return.  Camera in hand. Quietly. Slowly.

I'm so glad you did! I was just wondering about you the other day. I have not been blogging with the same frequency and with different things to say and I see a few of other favorite bloggers doing the same. Life has been busy...especially with a baby! It's nice to have the power to step away. But it is equally nice to find that voice again at least here and there...I know what you mean. I'm glad you picked up the camera and as always, your writing is beautiful. Nice to see you again {and the little one.}

i wondered how Canberra was going for you - you'd gone so quiet. I did think of you. I'm sorry our town didn't really work for you. It's a town you either love or....not. I like that it's a big town. I like to visit cities but don't really like to live in them. I'm glad you're still around the internet at least.

i was thinking about you the other day actually. I haven't blogged in awhile, nearly 2 months and i haven't picked up my camera as much either. No idea why I'm lacking inspiration!
I think moving to Canberra from Berlin would be really hard. While it's still a city, in a lot of ways it's like a really big country town and driving everywhere can be a pain.
I hope you're happier wherever you've settled!

Thank you girls. Seems like a few people have been less actively blogging... but nice to know that people are still around.
@Bells - I know so many people who love Canberra and I really hoped it would be us, but it was not to be.
@SJ - we're back in Melbourne and still sorting out house, jobs etc etc but we're happier (not sure if we're settled) I feel they'll be a few more changes before we find our nest.

Oh Clare! I'm so delighted to see you back here. My, Emilia is so grown up now. I can't wait to see more photos of her and hear what tricks she's up to now. Good luck setting into Melbourne. I don't blame you. I could never live in Canberra! J x
