At two weeks, Emilia is just beginning to wake up to the world. It's a fascinating process. At the moment she's completely besotted by black and white, shadows and light. I know it's a little early to be reading, but this book, Dwell Studio's Look Book, keeps her entertained for a good couple of minutes - the contrasting colours perfect for a little girl just beginning to see. My little scholar! And a couple of minutes of angelic baby-time is just enough for this Mama to see that one-day, some-day this little bundle of joy who is currently consuming all my energy will also give back energy and joy and bundles of love in her own special way.

adorable!
For books it is never too early! That's right. Such a little darling girl, very pretty.
Oh, Clare! She's just heart-melting. I found it fascinating to discover just how far ahead newborns can see clearly. And black and white is such a winner at this age. I swear by this one (http://www.bestbuys4baby.com.au/review/black-and-white-baby-bright-mobile) which all 3 pixies have delighted in. J x

oh no, I think my ovaries just tugged at me... she is just adorable :)
They do say babies absorb an incredible amount of information when they're little. I'm not sure who "they" are, but early exposure to words, books, and awesome design can't hurt.
Oh oh, I've been missing out on Emilia posts! What a pretty little bubba she makes, lovely and pink and new... Glad to hear she is doing so well, despite that harrowing experience you had! I still totally freak out during emergency type (or even not-so-emergency) moments, I just cry lots and have to leave it up to Zan to problem solve. Though the one time I had to deal with one on my own, I actually did quite well - despite its only being a cut lip that filled her mouth with blood. I had much more frightening visions of what was wrong!
Too cute!!
