Tiergarten

On Sunday it was Germany's national holiday.  Twenty-one years ago, the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) decided to hold hands again and be friends.  I reckon that's a pretty awesome reason to celebrate a countries "national day".  There were plenty of small festivities going on, but we decided to head down to Bradenberg Gate which was supposed to have live music, rides etc etc - basically everything you would normally expect from a festival.  When we got there it was pretty disappointing.  Lots of food stands, but not much else.  In the end we walked around Tiergarten  and I got completely distracted by the puddle and the incredible light that was reflecting off the surface. I squatted down to take a photo and dunked my coat in the mud - oops.  Off to the dry cleaner it goes!

Gorgeous photos! The forth one with the reflection is my favourite. The German national day sounds much more significant than Australia's celebration of when we invaded the indigenous people...

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos! It's funny because I listened to a radio show on NPR (Natl. Public Radio) about the national holiday. Sounded like great fun.

Beautiful photos Clare. I can see how you would get caught up in the puddle reflections. The one that draws the eye back-wow....as well as your last photo of the lone leaf. I'm a sucker for a lone leaf anytime. Thank you for sharing.
