In a little under two weeks I'm going to be here! Even more exciting, that means that I'm beginning my holidays. Well, kind of anyway. I arrive in New York on Friday afternoon, have a meeting on Saturday and then fly to Melbourne on Sunday afternoon. I am dreading the New York - Melbourne flight. I've done it once before and promised myself that I'd never do it again. Well, I eat my words.
But if you guys did the maths like I did I have roughly 24 hours in New York to myself. What should I do? I don't really have long enough to venture very far and I'm staying near Pen. Station. Suggestions? Coffee, vintage markets, secret photo places... I want it all.

So jealous! I have never been to NYC so no suggestions from me, just jealousy. :) Enjoy your 24 hours!
Oh how cool is that? I love NYC!
My favorite place is SoHo for shopping, cup cakes and photography. Or the West Village.
But I guess both is not really close to Penn Station... How long are you staying in Australia?

oh wow. NYC in 24 hours.. you can do it! :D
Love NYC. I would hit Stage Deli and Serendipity for a frozen hot chocolate if you can get in, (need a reservation). Lucky you... I would love to see Australia! xo
You lucky girl:)
Its a perfect time to be in NY just before Christmas...enjoy it!
Kisses and have a wonderful Thursday
Ps: I hope you had a chance to enter my Giveaway!
One day? I'd say, go check out the High Line, the old railway line that was converted to a garden. And then stroll down it to Chelsea Market to grab some delicious food. Hope you have a fantastic time there!
i am so psyched you are coming to my city! i'll try to think of more stuff in addition to what i already emailed you. i see a second vote for the high line here in the comments so hopefully that was a good suggestion.
I always love a trip to Zabar's for cheese, bread, and other tasty treats...I then walk to the park and have a scrumptious picnic. I usually end up having a food vacation while there! Oh, and hot chocolate at City Bakery! You can go across the way to the paper store, bring it back to the bakery and have some writing time with more tasty morsels. I believe it's in the Garment District so you can stock up on anything you may need for stitching...
Have a great trip! Look forward to hearing about it.
A day in NYC almost makes that miserable, long flight from NYC to Melbourne worth it.
Oh I envy you! one of the best places for a fantastic view right through central park is from the windows of Bergdorf Goodman, a great photo opportunity
Wooo, how exciting! oh I don't know NY well enough to give recommendations, but i loved Cafe Grumpy in Chelsea, Strand Books was heaven, the Morgan Library was inspirational and wonderful, Zabars was full of deliciousness (great for Central Park picnic), and we had an amazing (although expensive for NY) Italian meal at Babbo. Best brunch I had was at Penelope's on Lexington Ave which I think is pretty near Penn station. Have the BEST time!!!
How exciting!!! I would just take the camera and walk!
ooooo how awesome.
i agree with krystal, just wander the city and immerse yourself in it. central park is always awesome and have a hot dog or a bagel from a vendor that seem to be on every corner :)
are you doing the sketchbook project? i just saw the little button on the side of your blog. it's such a cool idea!
How exciting! I was there today...it was cold and wet. :(
So jealous. Can't wait to see the photos.
I'll be leaving here next week for a couple weeks. So fun. Enjoy your time :)
Have fun in NYC. Wish I lived a little closer; would love to meet you. Me thinks you'll find plenty-can't wait to see.
I love all the photography tips on your blog! We've been posting about all the places we visited while we were in NYC - shows, restaurants, etc... so you might find some things to add to your list. You're going to have so much fun!
