Well, not quite, but almost. Have you ever tried tilt-shift photography? I had no idea what it was until last weekend when I look up this tutorial on how to do it. The editing is a little bit fiddly at first and I think there's a skill in finding the right photos for the effect - it works much better when you have a photo shot from above. But once you get the hang of it, it's a little more-ish. I spent way too long searching through my archives for appropriate photos to "make mini".
If you need something else to add to the list of things that keep you glued to the computer screen then this is for you. I promise an evening will disappear before you've had time to admire the cuteness of your miniature world!

Hi, i found you via Rhianne, i love your blog! I did a post about tilt-shift stuff the other day ( http://www.oranges-and-apples.com/2010/10/tilt-shift-van-gogh-paintings.html ) but i haven't tried it myself yet! Your attempts look amazing!

Looks pretty cool! I was thinking about trying this for long now, but never seem to have enough time to simply sit down and do it! maybe tonight?

I will watch the tutorial as I have always wanted to do this, thanks so much
Awesome! I used to love doing this sort of thing a lot in college, my friends and I would climb up to high places to take photos of the city so that we could miniaturize them! I haven't done it in an age, we have a lot of mountains where I live now so I should probably give it a go again :)
oh....my goodness. I've always been so curious about this and thought I need a lens for it. Silly me, of course there would be a way to do it on the internet! There goes my evening tonight :) thanks for the intro!!
Those look so cool and I was always wondering how to get that effect:)

wow i love it! it looks so cool and interesting, slightly scary in some ways! xx
Seriously - so cool! When I first saw the photos (before I read the text) I thought you'd been to a museum of minitures and taken photos there.
A very informative post for me as I take loads of pics during my travels.. Thank you.
I was so going to post something on tilt shift in the next week or so...I just got a lens baby and I'm trying to figure out how to use it appropriately.
Oh my gosh, this photography is amazing!! Maybe it's about time I brush up on my camera skills :-)
xo
These are so cool! I ran down the hallway to get my boyfriend (who's receiving an MFA in Photography) and said, "Did you know you can do this?!" He just shrugged and said, "Yeah." But I'm still excited!
I can't wait to try this!
These are adorable. I love the mini! Will have to try...
These photos are beautiful. I love this effect.

This is so cool! One of my flickr faves just did that, and I've been wanting to try it ever since. I think I'm a little intimidated by all the steps. Yours is perfection! :-)
I've given the maker a go, but never tried the real thing. I really like the effect when it's done on the right photo.
this is such a cool effect... love what you were able to achive with it!!!
It's so fun ! I loooooooove !
